In years past, Adam and Nate participated in a band known as This Side Up, which proved to not be as stable as they'd like, eventually fading away. So, it seemed, the era of music for these two was over. As it turned out, though, it took no more than two months before the two realized they had made a grave mistake. "We were bored and couldn't get girls," says Adam when asked about the band, "so we decided to kill two birds with one stone and start a new band. It may not sound like it, but Adam takes his band very seriously.
Now, onto the name. It all started the summer of '02, "...but we didn't really think much of it," says Adam. Having no band to participate in, Adam and Nate found enjoyment in hanging out together at Nate's house everyday for 5 hours; noon to five, same time everyday. So, one day, about half way through the summer, Nate's dad said something to the effect of "Nate, you're getting in a rut, Adam comes over everyday at noon and alls you guys do is play video games." To which Nate exclaimed, "Dad, its not a rut, its a routine." Thusly, the name was found.
More is here! Andy Kishel has joined the band as the drummer-man extraordinaire! After a long, yet more so short, odd battle with Jason-something-or-other, the band is possibly more stable than it once was. With this final important addition, the band is now ready to move on to bigger and better things. If you thought you knew who they were, you were wrong. Unless you know them personally, then you probably know them well. Nevertheless, new sounds and styles are being generated, enough to suprise even this web-masterer. New things on the way. Who knows what will be next.
And who would have guessed it? Andy is gone. Due to lack of experience in the playing of his instrument, Mr. Kishel was asked to leave the band. Of course it's hard for a band to really move along without a drummer, as you may remember from earlier days, so a hiatus of sorts was enacted. During this month or so Adam and Nate pondered on the stylings they hoped to play once they returned from the hiatus. Punk was out, and Weezer-ish was in. This happened to not be all that desirable as well, so as it were, they decided they would play what they liked and whatever it was, it was what they'd be.
Shortly after, though, they realized they would need a drummer in order to do any of this, and so the journey for a drummer began again. Lucky for them, Adam had met a guy at some school-related concert and not only did he know what he was doing, but he was almost a perfect match for this temporary duo. Similar music tastes and drive made him a well needed addition to the team.
More to come!
